Seeking Guest Speakers for Summer 2024

Enjoy working with college students? Have expertise to share? We are looking for guest speakers for our summer 2024 programming. You will have the extraordinary opportunity to meet and share knowledge with our talented young leaders. Guest speakers work with one or a combination of our programs: Act Six, Seed Internships, and Seed Teachers.

Act Six and Seed Teachers scholars will be doing pre-college training in preparation for becoming college freshman. Seed interns will be doing professional development alongside summer internships at top, local employers in Pierce County and King County. All in-person training takes place at the Degrees of Change office in downtown Tacoma.  Parking and meals provided. Time commitment is one to two hours:

  • Act Six, Tuesdays 5:30-7:00 p.m. (in-person)
  • Seed Teachers, Wednesdays 5:00-7:00 p.m. (in-person)
  • Seed Internships, Fridays 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (virtual)

This year, we are especially interested in presenters on diversity, equity, and inclusion; adulting 101, personal finance and housing; imposter syndrome and mental health; and translating internship experiences to the professional world. But if you have other areas of expertise and suggested presentation topics, we would love to hear them. If you would like to join our students this summer, please complete this registration form.

Degrees of Change relies on the generosity of volunteers to make our work possible. We look forward to welcoming you to our team.
