The 2023-2024 application for our Seed Teachers program is officially open! Seed Teachers, a new program by Degrees of Change, Tacoma Public Schools, Franklin Pierce School District, and Pacific Lutheran University, offers diverse Pierce County students a cohort-based, debt-free path to their college degree and teacher certification-all leading to a high-impact teaching job back in their home community. We are building a more equitable school system with schoolteachers who reflect the young people in their classrooms.
Seed Teachers scholars receive an exceptional scholarship package, get paid to work in school programs throughout their college experience, and journey through college together in cadres of 15-20 with wraparound support and mentoring. If you are a graduating senior from Tacoma Public Schools or Franklin Pierce School District, or graduated in the last two years and are not currently enrolled in a four-year university, you are eligible to apply.
Learn more and start your application today. The deadline to apply was originally January 15 and has been extended to February 1, 2024.
